“My America is DISJOINTED.” – L. Bryant

L. Bryant - 01.12.2014

L. Bryant – January 12th, 2014

I met Ms. Bryant at Dolores Park with her boyfriend. We talked about how America can mean so many different things to people. It was hard for her (and the majority of the people I’ve spoken to) to come up with a sentence that encapsulates what this country means or represents. So she came to the conclusion that America is disjointed in the sense that everyone is pursuing their independent interests.

Similar to her feelings about the United States, Ms. Bryant chose not to be photographed with the flag because it has taken on so many connotations.
